The road less traveled

Preparing to move a family of 5 over 10,000 miles away  in an foreign land is no easy task.  We have started this journey with much discernment, and know we would not be on this road if God didn’t lead us. We are in awe of His provision, His Guidance, and His faithfulness thus far. We know He has been preparing our family for years to be able to serve Him in this capacity, but we truly only started taking our first steps in June 2012. Since….. we have moved out of our home,  had a baby (born at home),  transitioned to a one income family, (Danielle) began and is still working away at Midwifery school, we’ve answered hundreds of questions, tests, evaluations to apply to be missionaries with World Venture, been to 3 weeks worth of intensive trainings in Colorado,  spent days skypeing with our ministry field partners, started our two oldest kids in school (Braiden and Jacy), gathered and sent huge duffel bags of supplies for the Sarobidy Maternity Center,  (Neal) took a quick preparation trip to Madagascar,  and we are now sharing with everyone our new found love in helping to reconcile the people, health, and forests back to Christ in Madagascar. Thank-you to all those who donated baby clothes for Sarobidy! They finally made it there. Ruth (one of the Malagasy Midwives) excited to organize the new clothes for these newest little ones! Each woman in the program gets a receiving blanket and an outfit once their baby is born. Amazing how God has completely shifted our lives, our course, our hearts in a new direction.  And we are unbelievably ecstatic to be on this road. Yes, we have battled the….  “What if you get sick?”, “What about your kids?”,  “What about the language?”, “How could you leave your families, friends, home?” We have faced all these thoughts and questions and continue to lay them at His feet.  He is our provider and protector and how much more will he take care of us when we are following His Lead. And we are ready for the insane task of all we need to do before we leave the beginning of next year. -Read 18 specified books (with reports) -Get all medical( forms, vaccinations) clearance -get the kids passports -pack a 40 ft container to be shipped by the end of the year -take a week trip to Haiti to meet and learn from a thriving Women’s Center -Speak at numerous churches, camps, and schools -and continue the new full time job of sharing His Call  to build the team of support we need to thrive and serve in Madagascar. We know it will be a rough at times, uncomfortable, and testing of our flexibility and strength. But it is a good thing we aren’t alone. Did I mention we love the road we are on!...
